Description from the seller
Lot consisting of 2 500 ml ceramic jars representing the famous Moro Head, of extra virgin olive oil produced by Terrano, Sicily - Italy.
TESTE DI MORO
Moro Head Bottle 500ml
The project stems from the idea of creating a bottle that represents the “Sicilianess” of an oil, to be presented to gift shops, gourmet shops, and Sicilian specialty stores both in Italy and abroad.
The idea of reproducing one of the most famous “symbols” of Sicily is to provide a handicraft object united with one of the Sicilian oils, to leave the consumer with a memory of this land and an object to keep even after the contents are finished.
The legend of the “Moro Head” dates back to the 11th century, when the Moors invaded Sicily and became part of the population, so much so that they integrated perfectly with the Sicilian population. The story of this vase will be included on the bottle’s label, also to provide the consumer with all the details of the origin of this vase that is found throughout Sicily.
The bottle is made of glass from a mold drawn, on one side the design of a female face, on the other side the design of a male face, it is made in dark glass or white-painted, possibly decorated in some details (the mouth, the eyes, the necklace, etc.), to realize several versions of the bottle for the retailer. The bottle design has been deposited at the Chamber of Commerce of Catania to guarantee the originality of the container.
