Punchmarks: On the base rim there is the Papal States chamber mark and the silversmith’s mark with initials (partially worn from use and not easily legible but clearly identifiable as period guarantee marks).

Prestigious and rare example of Baroque sacred silverware dating to the 18th century. This pisside stands out for its exquisite hand-done repoussé and chased work, decorating the lid, the under-plate, the shaft and the circular base with elegant vegetal scrolls, acanthus leaves and the symmetric bossing typical of 18th-century Papal taste. A piece of the highest interest for collectors of antique silver and religious antiquarian objects.

Conditions:
The piece is in excellent conservational condition for an artifact of its age. It retains its splendid original patina. The hallmarks on the base attest to the piece’s authenticity and historical integrity. Normal signs of wear over time are present, confirming its real use in devotion and liturgical use over the centuries; the interior of the cup is still gilded as shown in the photos that are an integral part of the description.
