Description from the seller
Five vintage mechanical corkscrews from the period 1945–1960, originating from Germany, Italy, and the former GDR.
1. German Columbus corkscrew with split frame, a clever mechanism by which the cork can be easily removed from the worm.
2. German Hercules corkscrew with a striking red wooden handle.
3. Italian Bell corkscrew, marked ITALY, based on the American patent by Edwin Walker. The characteristic clock-shaped ("bell") body operates with an Archimedean worm.
4. German corkscrew with a spring mechanism.
5. GDR DREKO corkscrew with ball bearing construction for particularly smooth operation.
All specimens are in very good vintage condition, with only light signs of wear fitting for their age. An attractive and varied selection of mid-century mechanical corkscrews, of interest to collectors of wine accessories and technical design.
