Neoclassical mantel clock from France, dating to the late 19th century (circa 1850–1900), in patinated bronze and black marble with a mechanical eight‑day movement, half‑hour striking on a single gong, 61 cm high, 80 cm wide, 35 cm deep and weighing 20 kg, in good condition and in working order.

Mantelpiece Clock “Cesare” – France, late 19th century
Majestic neoclassical mantel clock crafted in patinated bronze and black marble. The composition is dominated by a sculpture depicting Julius Caesar seated, wrapped in his toga, with a pensive gaze directed at a scroll of parchment. Beside him, a helmet, shield, and banner complete the scene, echoing Roman iconography.
The base houses a clock with a white enamel dial and Roman numerals, set in a gilded circular frame. The structure rests on a solid wooden base decorated with bas-relief motifs. Manual-wind mechanism with key included.
