Description from the seller
Monumental Sculptural Table Lamp in Opaline and Aquamarine Murano Glass by F. Fabbian, Italy, 1970/1980s
Extraordinary Italian table lamp produced by F. Fabbian in the 1970/1980s, a refined expression of postmodern sensibility and the Murano glassmaking tradition.
The piece stands out for its pure, architectural silhouette: a generous truncated cone volume in hand-blown opaline glass, perfectly balanced by a substantial solid aquamarine glass top element. The quality of the glass—dense and silky to the eye—reveals a high-level craftsmanship typical of the finest Italian productions of the period.
When unlit, the lamp presents itself as a minimal and sophisticated sculptural presence; when illuminated, the opaline body transforms into a homogeneous and enveloping luminous mass, diffusing a warm and atmospheric light. The upper disc, with its aquatic tone and solid consistency, creates a subtle yet decisive chromatic dialogue, giving the ensemble a formally elegant balance.
The result is an object that transcends function to become an architectural element: a luminous sculpture capable of dialoguing with high-level modernist, postmodern, or contemporary interiors.
Complete with original brass clamp engraved “F. Fabbian – Made in Italy”.
A piece of strong presence, ideal for collectors and interior design projects seeking authenticity, volume, and material richness.
