Military miniatures. Lot of Napoleonic tin figurines - "Les Étains du Prince" - First Empire
Description:
Lot of collectible tin figures from the famous French brand "Les Étains du Prince", tracing the period of the First Empire and Napoleon I's Grand Army.
Each figurine rests on its original wooden base with its nominative identification plaque except 4 (see photos, including one figurine with a loose arm). The details of the uniforms, weapons and expressions are of great finesse, characteristic of the craftsmanship of the manufactory.
The lot includes notably:
Historical Figures & Sovereigns: The Emperor Napoleon, Empress Marie-Louise (1791-1847).
The Marshals of the Empire: Marshal Mortier (Duke of Treviso), Marshal Berthier (Prince of Wagram - Coronation Costume), Marshal Masséna (Duke of Rivoli), Marshal Davout (Duke of Auerstaedt).
The Generals: General Desvaux de St Maurice, General Drouot ("The Sage of the Grand Armée"), General Chouard, General Desaix.
Imperial Guard and Elite Corps: Imperial Guard - 2nd Regiment of Light Cavalry Lancers (with its cloth/paper flag "Value and Discipline"), Sapper of the Imperial Guard Infantry, Drummer of the 1st Regiment of Grenadiers on Foot (1810), Officer Mamelukes (1805), Cantinière of the Chasseurs à Pied.
Other officers and scenes: Colonel Krasinski (Commanding the 1st Regiment of Light Horse), Baron Larrey (Inspector General of the Health Service) as well as artillery/sitting soldiers figurines with chest.
Condition: Overall good condition. Some light signs of use due to age (see detailed photos for the precise state of each figurine). The tin preserves its beautiful patina.
