The precious service remained stored and preserved for many decades in ordinary boxes. The undeniable proof of its fully original condition (“deadstock”) lay in the dust buildup over time: while the centers of stacked dinner plates remained protected and retained their original dazzling white, historical dust slowly infiltrated through the gaps created by the raised and undulating edges of the pieces. This visually confirms that it had not been touched for more than 50 years. It has been recently cleaned entirely by hand and with utmost care (no dishwasher used) to remove the dust of time while preserving the integrity and absolute brilliance of its fine gold gilding.

Transparency Detail: In the spirit of rigorous honesty, there is only a tiny dark burn mark (the size of a pinhead) on the tureen lid, barely visible to the naked eye and original. It has deliberately not been scraped to preserve the original gold.
The 56 German pieces bear the authentic mark engraved on the bottom “Bavaria Schumann” (1920 period), and the offered platter bears Limoges’ official hallmark.
