Papal Apostolic Blessing – Pius XI (1922-1939)
A rare, richly illuminated Catholic devotion document, featuring a photographic portrait of Pope Pius XI, accompanied by a personalized apostolic blessing granted to “Marguerite Schwertfeger and her family.”
The document is adorned with polychrome historiated initials, papal heraldry, and a large Vatican blind seal. The text grants the apostolic blessing as well as the plenary indulgence in articulo mortis (at the moment of death), according to the official formula then in use.
Signed by Carolus Pansoni, bishop and officer of the Roman Curia, with a handwritten note dated April 11, 1920. The antique gold frame is preserved.
