Description from the seller

You are looking at a French lantern clock from a time when people did not yet look at the minute. This clock has only one hand. This clock has survived the French Revolution around 1789. The engraving in the plaque beneath the rooster was filed away at the time. Royal symbols were strictly forbidden.
The clock is made entirely of brass. The dial has the original enamel numeral plates.
The operation of the mechanism has been professionally tested using a couple of weights and a pendulum. These are not included. The clock will need to be restored by the new owner.
