Description from the seller
Canon Canonet rangefinder film camera — working, with meter display fault.
Hello from Japan!
We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.
The Canon Canonet is a 35mm fixed-lens rangefinder introduced in 1961, the first of Canon's hugely successful Canonet line of automatic-exposure cameras. It features a fast Canon 45mm f/1.9 lens and a selenium meter that encircles the lens, branded the "Electric Eye" for shutter-priority auto exposure. Aimed at the intermediate market, initial stocks famously sold out within hours of release, and over a million units followed in a few years. As Canon's breakthrough consumer rangefinder, the original Canonet remains a milestone of Japanese camera history.
Important — please read carefully:
The meter reading is not shown in the viewfinder and Auto mode is unstable (though the meter cell reacts to light); Manual-mode shooting is unaffected. The lens front element has some cleaning marks. Please review the photos before bidding.
Condition: Used — Good
Pre-owned. The meter reading is not displayed in the viewfinder; on inspection the meter cell itself reacts correctly to light, but Auto mode behaved unstably. In Manual mode this has no effect. The lens front element has some cleaning marks.
Serial Number
Please check the photo.
Appearance
Signs of use consistent with age. Please check the photos for details.
