Description from the seller

It is a circular paperweight with a diameter of 6 cm, made for the company Caleppio. The peculiarity of the object lies in the collaboration with the artist Giuseppe Ajmone (1923–2005), an Italian painter and engraver, exponent of existential realism and very active in the Milanese art scene.
• Materials: As indicated by the certificate and the stamps, it is made of 800 silver (the top with the relief) and brass (the base and the supporting structure). The total weight of the paperweight is 400 g. The silver part is only superficial but I don’t know how many grams it may be.
• Subject: The relief in silver presents an informal/abstract style typical of Ajmone’s maturity, with moving and organic surfaces that play with the reflections of light.
• Marks: On the back is the logo "Caleppio", a company known in the 1960s and 1970s for producing design objects and corporate gifts. On the front, at the bottom, the silver hallmark (800) is visible.
