Optalix Studio transistor radio, produced in France in the early 1970s, in good cosmetic condition and tested and working, with power cable included; dimensions 30.5 cm (W) x 11 cm (D) x 14 cm (H) and weight about 1.6 kg.
Description from the seller
Splendid specimen of the Optalix Studio transistor radio, model Studio, produced in France (Amiens) in the early 1970s.
This model is a true icon of the space-age design of the era, featuring a plastic case in a lively orange/amber color and a two-tone front grille that perfectly reflects the modernist aesthetics of the period.
Conditions and Operation
Aesthetics: Excellent condition, very well preserved. Shows only very slight, physiological signs of wear due to time, which do not detract from its beauty.
Technical test: The radio has been tested with the included power cord and is functional, receiving correctly on both bands; the volume control should be cleaned as it struggles to adjust the volume.
Note on batteries: The battery compartment has not been tested due to lack of batteries but it is clean and shows no signs of oxidation.
Technical Features
Frequency bands: Longwave (LW) and Medium Wave (MW) reception. Power: Dual mode (AC mains 220V or batteries).
Dimensions: 30.5 cm (width) x 11 cm (depth). Height: 14 cm (without handle) / 19 cm (with handle raised).
Weight: about 1.6 kg.
Color: Bright orange with chrome silver details, glossy chrome and ivory accents.
An ideal piece for both vintage radio collectors and as an exclusive vintage home decor accessory.
