Description from the seller
An exceptional and highly collectible Goebel limited edition sculpture titled “Passing the Peace Pipe”, designed by renowned sculptor Gerhard Skrobek.
This impressive composition depicts a symbolic peace ceremony between a Native American chief and a frontiersman seated outside a traditional tipi, representing friendship, respect, and reconciliation. The sculpture is mounted on its original wooden display base with the original brass title plaque.
This example is No. 391 of only 400 pieces produced worldwide, making it an exceptionally scarce collector’s item.
The sculpture displays excellent sculptural detail throughout, from the expressive faces and clothing to the richly textured tipi and surrounding landscape. It is an outstanding display piece for collectors of Goebel, Western art, Native American themes, or limited edition sculptures.
Condition
Overall, the sculpture presents very well.
Please note that it has two small, professionally executed restorations carried out by a previous collector:
-A minor restoration to the upper back edge of the tipi.
-A minor restoration to one of the feathers on the Native American figure.
Both restorations are stable and discreet and have been clearly shown in the final photographs for complete transparency. Aside from these restorations, the sculpture remains in very good condition.
