Description from the seller

Remarkable female Akua'ba wooden doll with a black patina. The piece is subtly sculpted, not yielding to the excesses of tourist productions.
Notable are captivating details: the knotted neck, the small firm chest, the navel, the very balanced face, the arms narrowing outward, the frontal motif.
There are also carved motifs on the back of the circular head, which is not the case with lower-quality productions.
This type of doll, carried by Ashanti girls in Ghana, was meant to help them bear children more easily.
