Description from the seller
2 two-headed Congo statuettes: On the left, an anthropomorphic two-headed statuette (with two heads) carved in dark, patinated wood. This type of representation is meant to symbolize double vision, the link between the world of the living and the ancestors, or an enhanced protective power.
On the right: a power statuette (fetish or nkisi type), remarkable for its stylized, ogival-shaped head and especially for its large ventral cavity. In ritual context, this cavity (sometimes called bilongo) is designed to receive magical charges, medicinal substances, or sacred relics, often sealed with a mirror or resin, in order to confer upon the object its spiritual strength and protective power.
Dimensions:
On the left: length 33 cm by 10 cm
On the right: length 39 cm by 9 cm
