Hello from Japan!
We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.
The Ofuna Six is a 6x6 folding rangefinder camera for 120 roll film, made in the mid-1950s by Ofuna Optical (Ofuna Kogaku) of Kamakura, Japan. The firm had grown out of a wartime binocular and military-optics factory and produced its own Ofunar 75mm f/3.5 lens in-house, fitting it to a die-cast folding body with a rangefinder. Only a few thousand examples were made across a short production run before the company withdrew from camera manufacture, making surviving examples relatively scarce. As the product of one of the many minor makers of Japans postwar camera boom, it is an uncommon and collectable medium-format folder that appeals to enthusiasts of period Japanese equipment.
Important — please read carefully:
The rangefinder double image is no longer clearly visible, so focusing is best done by the distance scale, and there are scratches on the front element (see photos). The shutter itself works well. Please review the photos and consider this before bidding.
Condition: Used — Good
Pre-owned, with signs of use appropriate to its age and the points noted below. The shutter works well.
Serial Number
Please check the photo.
Appearance
Scuffs and scratches from normal use. Please check the photos for details.
Optical Condition
Lens / Sensor: Front element has scratches (please see the photos)
Functional
The shutter fires well at the marked speeds.
Known Issues
1. The rangefinder no longer shows a clear double image, so focusing is best done using the distance scale.
2. There are scratches on the front element (please see the photos); light marks of this kind usually have little visible effect on images.
