Stool - oak wood and textiles - Old stool

Nice old stool, oak and textile, Netherlands 1930s/40s.

This handmade and sturdy oak stool can serve as a telephone bench, side stool, organ bench, etc. The sides are simple yet gracefully openworked and fitted with handles to make the stool easy to move.

On one side there has long existed a crack in the wood, which however does not threaten the construction or stability.
The upholstery of the seating area is new: a blue, tweed-like upholstery fabric.

Structurally the stool is perfectly fine; there are small age-related signs of use.
