Description from the seller
Original antique cast iron parlor stove marked “American Heating – No. 12”, manufactured in the United States around the turn of the 19th and 20th century.
During this period such stoves were not only functional heating appliances but also decorative objects and were often placed in representative interiors such as town houses, hotels, banks, social halls and private residences.
The stove is made of heavy cast iron and features richly detailed Victorian-style ornamentation typical for American industrial decorative design of the late 19th century. The front part includes multiple glass viewing panels and an internal combustion chamber with a classic coal grate. The upper part of the stove also features a warming plate.
The piece has undergone a complete restoration and is presented today in very good decorative condition. The restoration was carried out with attention to preserving the historical character of the object.
Today the stove serves primarily as a striking decorative interior piece and a unique collectible example of historical American heating design.
Marked “American Heating” with model designation No. 12.
