Description from the seller
This oval living-room guéridon dates from the late 19th century, crafted in the Louis XVI style. The oval top is adorned with a four-quarter sun marquetry in cherry with a contrasting light-wood border filet. Four tapered, fluted legs terminate in square brass sabot feet. Mortise-and-tenon pegged assembly — no screws, confirming traditional construction for the period. Original workshop inscriptions visible under the top — part number, the cabinetmaker's notes, and the original price in French francs. Sold with Certificate of Authenticity Atelier Freddy, Grenoble, France.
Dommages :
No structural damage. Slight signs of wear consistent with the piece's age — natural antique patina.
Restaurations :
Cleaning with a degreasing agent, gentle sanding with steel wool 0 then 000, application of Luberon à l’Ancienne hard base (2 coats), finish with natural beeswax polish Luberon à l’Ancienne (3 coats), hand polishing with a wool cloth.
Altérations :
No alterations — no parts replaced, no elements added. Original brass sabot feet, original mortise-and-tenon assembly, original marquetry top. A piece in its original, period condition.
