AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful Art Deco hip flask from the late 1920s or early 1930s with a silhouette image of a man playing golf. Made by the famous Evans brand in America, crafted in Nickel Silver (alpaca). The hip flask is in original and good condition overall. (small dent on the front, top right, see photos)

The Evans Case Company existed from 1922 to 1960 in North Attleborough, Massachusetts, USA. In that region there were many companies involved in making jewelry and other luxury items. In the beginning Evans Novelty Company (as it was called at first) made photo frames and "neck chains" for the army. At that time Mr. Reilly (the owner) was told that United Drug Company was looking for a company to produce a "compact." Evans was in a building The Totumm Building in which about 12 other companies also resided making jewelry, jewels, and luxury items. When the management of United Drug Company came to see whether Evans could handle the order/contract of $250,000, Mr. Reilly showed them the whole building and all the companies; the management was so impressed that Evans got the order and also a substantial down payment to start production. In the late 1920s Evans began producing lighters, which further increased their fame.
