Two antique Luis XV cornucopia wooden frames from France, in good used condition with minor signs of age, external 28 × 16 cm and internal 20 × 12 cm.
Description from the seller
They are two cornucopia-style frames in Louis XV style, made in the first half of the 20th century, faithfully capturing the undulating, theatrical, and deeply ornamental spirit of French Rococo. Each frame, with its oval shape and display of scrolls, leaves, and floral motifs, seems almost more sculpture than a simple container: the kind of piece that turns the wall into a stage.
The gilding, warm and uniform, wraps the reliefs in a soft light that enhances the depth of the carving. It is not a garish gold, but that kind of gentle and luminous tone that characterizes 20th-century reinterpretations of Louis XV, where exuberance remains but with a cleaner and more decorative finish. The top and bottom finials —two symmetrical compositions of intertwined curves and ornaments— provide verticality and that elegant gesture that turns the cornucopia into an aristocratic accent.
The pair, identical in design and proportion, has a special strength: together they create rhythm, balance, and a stage presence that recalls 18th-century French interiors reinterpreted for modern homes. They are pieces designed to stand out, to add character, shine, and a touch of Rococo fantasy.
Certified shipping and good packaging.
