Description from the seller
Bing & Grondahl's bird figurines titled "Optimist" and "Pessimist" are identified with model numbers 1633 and 1635 and are designs by the designer Jens Peter Dahl-Jensen (1874-1960).
"Bing & Grondahl" figurines are made exclusively by hand, with respect for old traditions. During the production process a figurine passes through the skilled hands of numerous artisans. With these hands it is cast in molds and assembled from various parts of the figurine. The sculpting is done with a steady hand and after the first firing the figures are hand-decorated and glazed; each of them is therefore a unique work that bears the artist's initials. After a new firing and thorough quality control the figurines are ready to be admired around the world.
As a guarantee of authenticity they bear the Bing & Grøndahl mark with three towers, inspired by the coat of arms of the city of Copenhagen and worldwide known as a symbol of Danish porcelain, and the initials of the artist. Bing & Grøndahl was a Danish porcelain manufacturer founded in 1853 by sculptor Frederik Vilhelm Grøndahl and the brothers Meyer Hermann Bing and Jacob Herman Bing. In 1987 the company merged with its main competitor, the Royal Porcelain Factory, under the name Royal Copenhagen.
Dimensions: approx. H 9 cm x L 12 cm and H 5.5 cm x L 13 cm
Total weight: 195 g
Both vintage objects are in excellent preserved condition with no defects and are securely packaged, shipped via registered mail and insured with track and trace.
