Item type: Bas-relief / Sacred plaque for wall
Subject: Face of Jesus Christ with crown of thorns (Ecce Homo)
Material: Silver bilaminate plate 925 (bearing official punch "925 R" printed in the lower-left corner)
Work: Hand-painted details (with the inscription “DIPINTO A MANO” on the front) and embossed metallic finish
Author/Signature: Signature of the author in cursive in the lower-right corner, not clearly decipherable
Period: Second half of the 20th century
Framing: Contemporary gilded wooden frame with a brown suede/velvet fabric passe-partout and front protective glass
Refined silver bilaminate 925 sacred plaque depicting the intense iconography of Christ's face (Ecce Homo). The work stands out for the union between metalworking craftsmanship and painterly finishing: the garments and hair feature warm color nuances applied by hand, creating an elegant chromatic contrast with the brilliance of the silver of the face and the background worked with texture.
The work is presented inside a large, shaped gilded wooden frame, which lends notable visual depth, completed by a soft fabric passe-partout and the original glass.
Conditions and Conservation Status
Silver plaque: In excellent condition. The silver retains a splendid luster, and the original painterly layer is perfectly preserved, vivid and without losses.
Frame: In generally good condition, with the charm typical of antique objects. It shows slight and physiological signs of aging and small losses on the superficial layer of the gilding, testifying to its authenticity.
Back: Original protective rear cardboard closure showing normal aging, structurally intact and equipped with its original metal hook, ready for hanging.
