This exceptional trapiche ruby displays the radial, zoned structure characteristic of this rare growth form, which runs clearly through the entire crystal. The clearly recognizable sector-like zones give the piece a graphic, almost architectural feel and make its formation history immediately visible.
In terms of color, the ruby ranges from warm red to purple and violet tones, which vary with the angle of light. Partially translucent areas alternate with denser, mineral-tinged zones. At the edges and fractures, natural growth lines, fine textures, and original surface features emerge, underscoring the raw character of the crystal.
Especially impressive is the light transmission in thinner sections, where the interior of the ruby glows in intense reddish nuances and further emphasizes the trapiche structure. Inclusions and natural irregularities are visible and authentic – they enhance the individual expression of this rare corundum representative.
