Description from the seller
Technics SL-Q2 Quartz Direct Drive Turntable (1979-1981) – New needle purchased in 1986 (with protector and receipt) – Functions as on day one
Technics SL-Q2 (model SL-Q2 / SL-Q2-XA), manufactured in Japan between 1979 and 1981. Serial No. SFNN020X01
A high-quality turntable from Technics’ classic era, with a quartz-controlled direct-drive motor, highly valued for its precision and reliability.
Operation:
- Works as on day one. The quartz lock keeps speed stable and accurate at 33 and 45 RPM. The motor starts smoothly, the tonearm moves gracefully, and the automatic return system functions correctly.
Materials and construction:
• High-density resin base with a pressure-cast aluminum top plate for great rigidity and good vibration isolation.
• 31.2 cm cast-aluminum platter.
• Tubular aluminum tonearm.
• Original acrylic dust cover.
• Approximate total weight: 7 kg.
Vibration-damping feet:
Four original rubber anti-vibration feet that isolate the equipment from external vibrations.
Needle:
Needle: The mounted cartridge is still original from its era (Technics EPC-207C). It was purchased new in December 1986 (original invoice attached). Mounted this year.
It has seen very little use since then. It ships with its original protector and without any impact or damage (you can clearly see this in the macro photos of the cartridge and tip). The needle is in excellent preserved condition.
Documentation included:
• Original complete user manual (multiple languages, including Spanish)
• Original December 1986 invoice for the purchase of this needle
Condition:
Very good for its age. Shows normal signs of use (some surface scratches on the dust cover and base). The rest of the equipment is in very good condition and functions perfectly.
Technical specifications:
