1991 Volkswagen Golf 1.6 Cabriolet Karmann in Blue with manual transmission, petrol, 133,000 km, Italian registration, matching numbers and colours, service history, CoC available on request, MOT valid until 2027-10-30, located in southern Italy.
Description from the seller
Golf Cabriolet Karmann 1600 in good overall condition, always kept in a garage.
BODYWORK AND PAINT:
The bodywork is in good general condition, small marks on the bumpers, on the front bumper and the clear coat is worn a bit; small marks on the rear wheel arches; on the hood a small mark 1 cm by 2 cm with the varnish flaking; a very small dent on the rear left side; rear bumper with small scratches in the corners; overall in good condition as shown in the photos. Front and rear seals are good, window seals original but still in good condition, lights functioning.
INTERIOR:
The interior is practically like new, clean, only very small defects on the driver's seat; steering wheel and dashboard in good condition, fans and heating functioning, electrical system working, including the cassette stereo, still working. Needs some attention to the dashboard light and water temperature gauge, and the instrument lights; these will be serviced before delivery and made operational. Seals in good condition, only the rear right one slightly worn. Convertible top a bit worn; to be restored with little expense. The convertible mechanism is very good, rust-free chassis.
The underbody is in order, no rust, just needs washing.
TECHNICAL CONDITIONS:
The engine is in good condition, replaced distributor and fuel pump, spark plugs, belt and clutch very good; valve cover gasket replaced, some hoses replaced, ceramic treatment. Carburetor cleaned, the car starts at the first try, the engine runs well and is fun to drive. Cooling functioning. Front and rear shock absorbers replaced, tires are Uniroyal and aged, possibly due for replacement. MOT valid until October 2027.
CoC certificate available on request.
The convertible top is dated and a bit rigid due to its 32 years and some flaws; a new one will be mounted with new cables by specialized personnel in the coming days.
The original movement of the top is electric (very rare for the era, a real gem for VW enthusiasts), with hydraulic mechanism in the rear luggage compartment, recently overhauled.
This particular version of the Golf Cabriolet, Karmann model, has all logos in black and the original, hard-to-find body-colored wheels.
The car is kept in a garage and is taken out every weekend for classic car events.
Documents in order, ready for transfer.
COLLECTION OF THE CAR:
The car is in Sicily, in the province of Catania.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
