Description from the seller

Extremely rare Brinkert EFBE subminiature camera (c. 1979) – Black Rectangular Model

Offered is an absolute rarity for collectors of subminiature and espionage cameras: the Brinkert EFBE. This unique device was handmade around 1979 in a very limited edition by Franz Brinkert in Duisburg, Germany.

Brinkert at the time purchased the remaining stock of high-quality Goldeck 16 lenses and designed around them a range of very unusual, compact cameras. This specific specimen is finished in a sleek, black anodized rectangular chassis with the iconic, graceful 'efbe' logo engraved on the front panel.

The camera uses an ingenious system in which 6 round exposures (diameter 12mm) are exposed on a special rotating film disc of 47mm. At the rear lies the distinctive slim dial to manually wind the film.

This mechanical little work of art is an indispensable highlight piece for the serious collector and rarely appears on the market.

Specifications:
Brand: Brinkert (Germany)
Model: EFBE Rectangular Model (Black)
Production year: Circa 1979
Lens: Enna München Color-Ennit 1:2.8
Film type: 47mm round film disc (6 exposures of 8x12mm)
Shutter speeds: B, 1/25, 1/50, 1/100 sec
Serial number (lens): 213929

Condition of the item:
Cosmetic: In beautiful aesthetic condition with minimal signs of use consistent with age (see detailed photos for an exact personal impression). Since the lens is only secured by the mechanism to wind the camera, it feels as if the lens section is slightly loose. This is however the construction of this camera (it does not affect the operation of the camera and lens).

Mechanical: The shutter speeds respond, the adjustment rings turn smoothly and the transport mechanism is functional. Not tested with film.
Optical: The lens is clear, without deep scratches or visible mold.
