AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Offered for the connoisseur and collector: an extremely rare and historical Expo Police Camera from circa 1912. Produced by the Expo Camera Company in New York, USA. This iconic piece of early photographic history was marketed at the time as a discreet camera for surveillance purposes and is a beautiful example of an early 'detective' or subminiature camera. The camera has a rectangular, black-lacquered metal housing with beautiful nickel/brass details and weighs surprisingly compact in the hand (dimensions approx. 2.5 x 3.5 x 1 inches). The device uses special film cassettes (for 12 exposures of 18x28mm).

Housing: In good vintage condition with normal signs of age and light lacquer damage consistent with the age, see photos.

Shutter/Mechanism: The shutter cocks and fires, but has not been tested for accuracy

Lens/Optics: The lens is visually clear

A fantastic and scarce centerpiece that rarely enters the market in this condition. An absolute must-have for any serious collector of early espionage or subminiature photography!
