Italian mid‑century Space Age chandelier by an Italian designer, with five chrome‑plated arms and handblown Murano glass domes, in good used condition and working order, 50 cm wide, 50 cm deep, 70 cm high, E27 fittings, five lights, glass intact.
Description from the seller
Orbital Geometry: A five-armed structure in polished chrome steel with perfectly cylindrical joints. Each light source is positioned like a planet around its central nucleus.
Each lampshade of this chandelier is a living work of art, hand-blown individually:
Linear Inclusion Technique: During the blowing process, the master glassmaker inserts a strip of amber glass into the rotating transparent crystal. The strip is incorporated while it is still hot, sliding vertically along the bell-shaped body.
When the lamp is lit, the light passes through the amber strip, projecting a warm and enveloping refraction into the environment. The effect triggers an immediate neuroesthetic reaction: the brain perceives the contrast between the rigidity of chrome and the visual softness of molten glass, transforming the illumination into a multisensory experience.
Period: About 1968–1975
Style: Space Age / mid-century Italian Modernism
Structure: Polished chrome steel with 5 orbital arms
Diffusers: 5 hand-blown Murano glass bells
Glass technique: Transparent glass with a vertical amber band incorporated during the blowing process
Unique feature: Hand-finished wavy lower edge (no two pieces are identical)
Specifications: E27 socket, 5 lights, functional with intact glass.
