Antique hand-painted tile with a beautifully executed Biblical scene, sam.31.4 in a circle. 
Chips on the edge.
- Here the severely wounded King Saul begs his armor-bearer to kill him with his sword. He wants to prevent the enemy Philistines from mocking him. Because the armor-bearer refuses, Saul ultimately drives himself onto his own sword.

Antiek handbeschilderde tegel met fraai uitgevoerde Bijbelse voorstelling, sam.31.4 in cirkel. 
Chipjes aan de rand.
-Hier smeekt de zwaargewonde koning Saul zijn wapendrager om hem te doden met zijn zwaard. Hij wil voorkomen dat de vijandige Filistijnen de spot met hem drijven. Omdat de wapendrager dit weigert, stort Saul zich uiteindelijk zelf in zijn eigen zwaard.
