Description from the seller
Three “ADCO” ribbed vases, known for their characteristic horizontal ribs.
They were produced by the Groninger Steenfabriek N.V., 1930s-1970s.
The largest, matte-glazed vase is 22 cm tall and 20 cm in diameter. This is most likely model number 1012, difficult to read.
It is lightly damaged at the upper rim, see photos.
The rough damaged spots on the base ring are caused by the so-called “proenen”, baked on sticks. This caused the glaze during firing not to adhere to the oven shelf.
The yellow vintage 1960s vase has a glossy glaze.
This one is unmarked, because many vases from this series at the time only had a paper sticker.
This vase measures 17 x 14 cm.
The slim, matte-glazed vase has a handwritten maker’s mark.
This was used in the early post-war years, 1940s-50s.
This vase was also fired on sticks.
The dimensions are 15 x 12 cm.
Because the factory has been closed for decades, since the 1970s, these vases are beloved collectible items.
The weight is 1800 grams, excluding packaging.
