Teapot - Porcelain

A rare large size Chinese turquoise glazed Cadogan teapot, modelled with a Buddhist guardian lion above the body. The spout is decorated with a dragon head, while the handle and base are moulded with cloud-scroll motifs. The teapot has an unusual bottom-filling construction, with water introduced through the aperture underneath. The base bears an impressed rectangular mark.
Dating to early 20th century.
