Description from the seller

Detailed silver miniature model of a three-masted ship (De Zeven Provinciën) with full rigging, double masts, bowsprit with staysails and pennants. The model is mounted on a wooden plinth.

Solid silver, fineness 835/1000 (second fineness). Weight about 700 grams.

The piece bears multiple Dutch hallmarks: a lion in a hexagon (Dutch silver hallmark), a walking lion with the Roman numeral II (fineness mark 835/1000, used from 1953), a maker's mark with the letter P and date letter P (ca. 1950). Additionally, decorative quality marks have been applied in the export-silver style — a well-known practice among Schoonhoven silversmiths.

Likely produced by a Schoonhoven silversmith, mid-20th century. Schoonhoven has long been the center of Dutch silver work and is known for this type of detailed miniature ships.

Not complete/damaged: the rigging shows damage at several points and one mast is no longer securely fastened. The piece is otherwise unrestored and in its original state.
