AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
Important Paris porcelain tea and coffee service, with painter’s marks on some pieces (butterfly and rose). The neoclassical shapes on footed bases, tall handles, animal-headed spouts, as well as the ornamental repertoire of palmettes, scrolls and gilded borders on a white ground are characteristic of the Empire period decorative vocabulary.
The service comprises 27 pieces in total:
- 1 large coffee pot (height 37 cm)
- 1 teapot H 20 cm, rose mark; lid shows a loss and a sign of restoration
- 1 milk jug H 20 cm, presents a hairline crack
- 1 large sugar bowl H 18 cm, the lid presents a small ding
- 1 large bowl diameter 20 cm, presents an old restoration with clamps
- 11 cups H 7 cm
- 11 saucers diameter 12 cm
The fine gilding is generally well preserved and the service remains attractively presented despite the few flaws noted (see description and photos).
