Technics SC-CA1080 is an advanced 1990s hi-fi stereo stack, an icon of Technics design. It is characterized by a massive construction with separate sections and large VU meters on the amplifier. The device is renowned for very good sound quality and high dynamics. The equipment typically consists of four main components: SE-CA1080: Power amplifier equipped with the aforementioned illuminated VU meters. SU-CA1080: Preamplifier. ST-CA1080: Radio tuner. RS-CA1080: Cassette deck. 
 The backlighting does not work but the indicators operate beautifully.
