Antique Hammered-Brass Hourglass Container with Incised Decorations – Late 19th / Early 20th Century. Splendid and elegant antique container in heavy brass, entirely hammered and hand-worked by a master coppersmith between the late 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. The piece stands out for its rare, sinuous hourglass shape (with a flared base and mouth and a narrow middle) that gives the item a strong visual impact and aesthetic momentum. The object retains its original antique patina, dark, rich, and even, which attests to its history and authenticity. It has not been subjected to aggressive chemical polishing in order to preserve its charm and value.
