Description:
This fun art print, printed on premium paper, combines American comic book pop culture with the serene and traditional atmosphere of rural Japan.
The work shows Deadpool and Spider-Man sitting face to face inside a traditional Japanese-style room (washitsu), with tatami floors and sliding doors open. The two iconic red-costumed heroes are engaged in an intense yet friendly arm-wrestling match on a wooden table. On the table you can see glasses and a small plate of food. In the background, the opening reveals a tranquil natural landscape with trees and a majestic mountain reminiscent of Mount Fuji beneath a serene sky, creating an ironic and peaceful contrast with the dynamic competition in the foreground.
"I wanted to pull these two heroes out of the chaos of New York to face the only real challenge left: deciding who pays for lunch in the middle of Japan’s quietude."
Creative Process:
The work was created through an innovative hybrid process: an initial sketch was generated with sophisticated artificial intelligence, subsequently interpreted and colored entirely by hand by the artist using professional software on an iPad. In the final stage a dedicated filter was applied that enhances the neo ukiyo-e style, giving the illustration sharp lines, strong contrasts and that graphic elegance typical of contemporary Japanese tradition.
Packaging and Shipping:
Each print is personally packed by the artist in their own studio; the packaging is highly protected as the print is shipped rolled in protective tubes.
The Artist – SSICK:
