Description:
This evocative art print, pressed on premium paper, surprisingly blends the sci-fi imagery of a faraway galaxy with the timeless allure of feudal Japan.
The work captures, from a rear perspective, a Stormtrooper (with red details on the armor reminiscent of an Imperial commander) walking alone along a deserted street of an ancient Japanese village. The stone-paved road is framed by traditional two-story wooden houses (machiya), characterized by dark-tiled roofs and lattice walls. The sky above is clear and serene, evoking a suspended, almost surreal atmosphere in which science fiction disappears among the folds of history.
"There is a fascinating parallel between cinema's elite soldiers and the samurai of the past; to see one walking among these ancient walls erases the boundaries between worlds."
Creative process:
The work was created through an innovative hybrid process: an initial draft was generated with sophisticated Artificial Intelligence, then interpreted and fully hand-colored by the artist using professional software on an iPad. In the final stage a dedicated filter was applied to enhance the neo ukiyo-e style, giving the illustration incisive lines, strong contrasts, and that graphical elegance typical of contemporary Japanese artistry.
Packaging and Shipping:
Each print is personally packed by the artist in their own studio; packaging is highly protected as the print is shipped rolled in protective tubes.
The Artist – SSICK:
SSICK, born in 2003, is a young Italian artist whose work stands out for the ongoing pursuit of a balance between technological innovation and artistic sensitivity. From the early years of his activity he developed a personal visual language, characterized by evocative compositions and immersive atmospheres. He also cultivates a deep passion for street art and graffiti, engaging in the design and production of original stencils used to create impactful and identity-rich urban interventions.
Founder of the artistic collective SSICKLAB, he regards technology as an expressive tool at the service of creativity. His works take shape through a process that integrates artificial intelligence with a thorough hand-painted digital intervention created on an iPad, making each piece the result of a personal artistic vision.
