For sale is a fascinating piece of optical and military history: an antique Galilei-type military binoculars from around 1900, presumably from the era of the First World War.
This exceptional collectible impresses not only with its historical aura but above all with its remarkable technical construction and its excellent preservation state.
The absolute highlight of this binoculars is its extraordinary construction: it can be completely disassembled into a total of 33 mechanical components. All threads, rings and mechanical connections are excellently preserved, smoothly operable and can be easily taken apart and reassembled. An impressive testament to the precision and quality of historic instrument making.

Condition and details
• Optics: For a more than hundred-year-old instrument, in extraordinarily good condition. The lenses are clear, clean and free of noticeable scratches. The view is bright and free of disturbing haze. The focusing mechanism works flawlessly.
• Mechanics: All parts are fully present. All threads work cleanly and precisely. The binoculars can be completely disassembled and reassembled.
• Casing & patina: The original leather covering of the tubes has been lost over the decades. This makes the massive brass housing with its beautiful authentic aged patina particularly impressive. The natural green patina lends the piece a distinctive historical character.
• Carrying strap: Original historic carrying strap, aged with signs of use, but still attached to the binoculars.
