Candlestick (2) - Bronze

Very beautiful pair of large bronze church candlesticks dating from the early 19th century, probably around 1815–1820, during the Empire/Restoration period.

The fluted shafts rest on wide circular bases with gadrooned decorations, the whole presenting a sober and harmonious line inspired by the neoclassical style.

These candlesticks were intended for altars or chapels.

The bronze shows a lovely old patina.

In good condition, just a few small knocks to be noted, particularly on the bobeches.
