Description from the seller
A beautiful and rare early model of the Junka subminiature camera. This unique metal miniature camera was produced around 1937 by the Junka-Werke in Nuremberg, Germany. What makes this particular specimen extra interesting for collectors is that it is the first model with the distinctive folding viewfinder on top of the camera body. Later production models from 1938 were equipped with a fixed, rigid telescope finder. This early model is therefore significantly harder to find. The camera has a gorgeous black metal housing with the original "crackle" lacquer finish. The device produces 3x4 cm images on special roll film. At the front is the original Optik 1:8 F=4.5cm lens. The markings "Kleine Blende", "M" and "Z" around the lens plate are still easily readable. Cosmetic: In neat, authentic vintage condition with light, characteristic age and usage traces that suit a camera of almost 90 years old. The lens housing has a crack (see photo). The lacquer finish is still very well preserved overall. Mechanical: The shutter responds and the buttons/viewfinder fold smoothly. The camera has not been tested with film.
