Roman Glass Unguentarium – 1st to 3rd Century AD
A fine Roman free-blown glass unguentarium featuring a slender cylindrical neck rising from a pear-shaped body and terminating in a gently flared rim. Manufactured in pale green translucent glass, the vessel displays the characteristic iridescence, weathering, and mineral deposits acquired during nearly two millennia of burial. The elegant proportions and elongated neck identify it as a classic Roman perfume or cosmetic flask, intended for storing precious oils, perfumes, medicinal preparations, or aromatic essences. Its delicate form and well-preserved ancient surface make it an attractive and authentic example of Roman glass craftsmanship.
