Description from the seller
Desk — Antonello Mosca for Sormani, Italy, the 1970s
Elegant desk designed by Antonello Mosca for Sormani in the 1970s, it is a refined example of Italian office design of the era, characterized by a minimalist and strongly architectural language.
The wide rectangular suspended top, covered in light laminate, rests on a central metal frame lacquered white with a three-spoke base that creates a visual balance between lightness and stability. The supporting structure is designed to leave the top free and visually light, emphasizing the purity of the lines.
The work surface features a suspended storage module with two drawers, conceived to offer functionality without interrupting the formal cleanliness of the design. On the opposite side, a freestanding compartment contributes to the sense of lightness and depth.
A distinctive element of the model is the chrome-plated footrest bar inserted into the base, a detail typical of high-end executive desks of the 1970s, combining ergonomics and refined formality.
The desk perfectly reflects Mosca’s design approach for Sormani: rigorous lines, industrial materials and a pronounced attention to functionality, qualities that make these pieces still highly relevant today, both in professional and domestic contexts.
