Description from the seller

UV checked!

Cache-pot / jardinière in blue and white porcelain
China, Qing Dynasty
18th century
Height: 18 cm
Diameter: 21 cm

Flared vase with a swollen belly and slightly constricted neck, resting on a straight foot. The porcelain is decorated in cobalt blue under a clear glaze.

The body is adorned with a continuous design of plum blossoms (mei hua) reserved in white on a crackled ice-blue background, a motif emblematic of the so-called "plum on ice" porcelains. This theme symbolizes renewal and winter resilience.

The decoration is structured by shoulder friezes, a Greek-key-type band (leiwen) at the neck, stylized scrolls, and at the base a frieze of lanceolate petals reminiscent of lotus leaves. The interior presents a uniform pale celadon glaze. The interior ground is unmarked.

Condition:
Stars on the body and base confirmed under UV.
Chips and nibbling at the neck
No major structural cracks; overall good stability.

Provenance: Portuguese Collection - Kanaka The Collection

Shipping: Shipped with UPS / CTT with insurance and tracking
