Canon A-1 black body with Canon FD 28 mm 1:2.8 wide-angle lens.
Manufacturer: Canon Inc., Japan.
Production period: 1978–1985.
Body serial number 2244191. After production, this specimen was probably manufactured in the early 1980s.
Lens serial number 49683, protected with correction filter B-W 52 E KR 1.5
2. Historical Context
The Canon A-1 is regarded as a milestone in SLR development. It was one of the first professional cameras with an integrated microprocessor and combined program, aperture, shutter speed, and manual exposure control in one body. Thus it signaled the transition from purely mechanical to electronically controlled professional cameras.
3. Construction and Technology
Metal chassis, electronically controlled focal-plane shutter up to 1/1000 s, TTL open-aperture metering, viewfinder information via LEDs, Motor Drive and Databack compatibility, and the proven Canon FD bayonet.

5. Condition of the Present Specimen
Exceptionally well-kept camera. Paintwork, leatherette, film chamber, and pressure plate are in good condition. No corrosion traces in the battery area or noticeable damage are detectable. slight signs of use on the chassis
