Description from the seller
Minolta MC Rokkor-PF 50mm f/1.7 — Fast Standard Manual-Focus Prime
Hello from Japan!
We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.
IMPORTANT — Please read carefully:
- The REAR element shows slight fungus EROSION MARKS — permanent etching left behind by past fungus. No active (live) fungus remains. These marks appear as a slight haze on the rear element.
- This is a genuine optical defect. Based on our inspection it does not currently affect images, but it is permanent.
Please read the Known Issues section and check every photo before bidding.
About this lens
The Minolta MC Rokkor-PF 50mm f/1.7 is a fast standard manual-focus prime introduced in 1973 for Minolta's SR bayonet (the MC/MD manual-focus mount). It uses a classic double-Gauss optical design of 6 elements in 5 groups — the "PF" designation denotes 5 groups and 6 elements — and is well regarded for its pleasant rendering and solid build. Made in Japan.
Mount and Compatibility
Minolta SR mount (the manual-focus bayonet used by MC and MD Rokkor lenses). It mounts natively on Minolta manual-focus SLR bodies (such as the SR, SRT, XE, XD and X-700). On modern mirrorless cameras (Sony E, Fujifilm X, Micro Four Thirds, Canon RF/EF-M, Nikon Z, and others) it can be used with a simple Minolta SR/MC/MD adapter while retaining infinity focus. Important: this manual-focus SR/MC/MD mount is completely different from the later Minolta / Sony A (Maxxum/Dynax) autofocus mount. SR/MC/MD lenses do not fit Minolta or Sony A-mount autofocus cameras, and A-mount lenses do not fit these bodies.
