The Yashica Auto Focus is a fully automatic 35mm point-and-shoot from the late 1970s / early 1980s, part of the first wave of autofocus compacts that followed the pioneering Konica C35 AF. It uses an active infrared autofocus system to set a fixed 38mm f/2.8 Yashica lens, paired with programmed auto-exposure, a pop-up flash and a focus-lock button for off-centre subjects. Film shooters and collectors like it as a simple grab-and-go 35mm compact with a sharp Yashica lens and an appealingly analogue character from an early chapter of autofocus history.
