Floral frog in 800 silver and satin-finished glass – Italy, 20th century.
Elegant floral frog (also known as floral frog or centerpiece flower holder) composed of a cup-shaped base in 800 silver and a removable upper insert in satin-finished glass stamped with holes for arranging stems.
The glass, featuring a refined raised floral pattern, presents numerous cells that allow you to create harmonious and well-distributed floral arrangements. By filling the cup with water, the stems stay hydrated and perfectly supported, in line with the tradition of table flower holders used from the late 19th to the 20th century.
This type of object has historically been produced by major European manufactories, including the French Christofle and Les Étains du Manoir, as well as numerous Italian silversmiths.
