Antique Walnut Gaming Table with Tilt-Top and Green Felt – 19th Century

We present at auction this fascinating antique walnut gaming table, dating from the 19th century, a piece of great elegance and functionality that will add a touch of class to any space.

Key Features:

Pedestal Design: The table features a single faceted pillar base, resting on a cross-stretcher base with stylized lion’s paw feet, ensuring stability and a solid look. This structure allows excellent freedom of movement for players.

Tilt-Top: The upper surface, originally a glossy walnut finish, can be easily tilted to reveal a second playing surface.

Green Felt Playing Surface: The gaming surface is covered with bright green felt, still vibrant, framed by a glossy walnut edge with internal metal pivots (see detail in the collage image). This design makes it ideal for cards, chess, or other table games.

Hidden Drawer/Compartment: Under the top there is an integrated drawer/compartment (see detail), perfect for storing decks of cards, chips, or other gaming accessories.

Condition: The table is in excellent overall condition for its age. The walnut wood has a warm, rich patina, with normal and expected signs of use for an antique piece, which enhance its authenticity. The tilting mechanism works. The green felt is well preserved.
