Description from the seller

Elegant pair of turned copper chandeliers, crafted in a classic style inspired by English and Dutch productions of the 17th and 18th centuries. Dating presumably from the first half of the 20th century (around 1920-1950), these chandeliers charm with their balanced lines, their baluster shaft rhythmically set with successive rings and their wide circular base foot ensuring a beautiful visual stability. Their warm patina highlights the authentic character of antique copper.

The two chandeliers are formed in turned copper and present a sober timeless silhouette. Their upper cup is intended to hold standard-sized tapers, while the slender shaft, punctuated by swellings and rings, gives the whole an understated elegance. Their finish, today delicately patinated by time, fits as well in a classic interior as in a more contemporary decor seeking old character pieces.

The set is in good condition. The two chandeliers show a slight deformation at the base, without major impact on their presentation. One of the two also has its shaft slightly mobile on its axis, a consequence of a slight play at the level of the assembly. These elements remain in keeping with the age and use of these objects and do not alter either their overall aesthetics or their decorative function.

Copper chandeliers experienced a significant resurgence in popularity during the first half of the 20th century, a period during which many European workshops reinterpreted traditional models from previous centuries. Valued for their robustness, warm glow and ease of maintenance, they were essential decorative elements in interiors. This pair perfectly illustrates this quality production, where the simplicity of forms highlights the know-how of turned copper work.

Average dimensions are:
- Height: 27 centimeters,
- Upper diameter: 5.5 centimeters,
- Base diameter: 11.3 centimeters,
- Total weight of the set: 750 grams.

Each of the two chandeliers will be individually packaged and the set will be shipped quickly in a secure manner. In-store pickup and combined delivery are available. The photos are part of the description.
